Acting Executive Director
Mary Tappouni is a licensed General Contractor and the President of Breaking Ground Contracting, a commercial contracting firm. At Breaking Ground, Mary leads the construction operations and provides green building and sustainability consulting services. She has years of experience helping organizations identify and meet their sustainability and resilience goals and holds several sustainability and green building credentials.
Over her more than 30 years in the construction industry, she has managed projects ranging from small park projects to multimillion-dollar facilities. In addition to public and private sector work, Breaking Ground Contracting has also completed various specialty projects for the non-profit sector. Mary actively represents the construction industry. She has served as Chair of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Florida Board, as past Chair of the Board of the ABC First Coast Chapter, and past Chair of its Women’s Council.
Mary is passionate about sustainability and green building. She was honored to speak at the Greenbuild conference in Chicago in 2010 and serve as a 2013 member of the Northeast Florida Regional Council Sea Level Rise Committee, which produced a Regional Action Plan. Most recently, Mary represented both Breaking Ground and the North Florida Green Chamber at workshops and meetings with both the City of Jacksonville and the NE Florida Regional Council as a part of their Resilient Jacksonville and Regional Resilience Action Plan processes, respectively. Mary has been proud to also represent the NF Green Chamber with partner organizations such as the Jacksonville Climate Coalition and JEA, participating in JEA’s Electric Integrated Resource Planning process. Mary was the founding Board Chair for the North Florida Green Chamber of Commerce and has been actively involved in its operations for the past several years as both a board member and passionate volunteer. She is also a past State Board member for the Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC). Mary showcases sustainability at Breaking Ground’s office which houses one of the few successful green roofs in Florida.
In 2019, Mary was honored with the 2019 City of Jacksonville Environmental Protection Board Award of Merit. She is a two-time recipient of the Jacksonville Business Journal’s Women of Influence Award, the 2009 recipient of the prestigious Best Practice Award for Leadership from Sustainable Florida Collins Center for Public Policy as well as being recognized as the 2009 Small Business Association Small Business Person of the Year for the State of Florida. She is a proud alumna of both the University of Florida and the University of North Florida.

Chair
Corey Jones brings 19 years of banking experience and currently serves at Climate First Bank, a mission-driven institution focused on sustainable finance. He specializes in supporting business owners with a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship and community resilience, consistently exceeding sales goals through trusted client relationships.
He holds an MBA and BA in Finance from the University of North Florida and is a graduate of the Florida School of Banking. As an adjunct professor at UNF, Corey mentors students and helps connect them with career opportunities.
A Jacksonville native, Corey enjoys Jaguars football, AEW wrestling, and reading—his favorite book is Moneyball. He lives with his wife Katrina and their two daughters, Amelia and Ava.

Vice Chair
Kassidy Kinkel is a Principal Product Manager at Orion Advisor Solutions, where they lead the development of innovative tools for financial advisors. With a background in finance and a passion for sustainability, Kassidy brings strategic insight to both product development and community impact.
Since April 2024, Kassidy has served on the board of the North Florida Green Chamber and became Vice Chair in early 2025. They hold a Finance degree from the University of North Florida, certifications from Terra.Do, and are an FSA Level II candidate with the IFRS Foundation.
An avid surfer and traveler, Kassidy enjoys time outdoors with their partner Kyle and their two dogs, Finnegan and Coconut.

Treasurer
Mallory Mizic is a Tax Senior at BDO USA, where she supports a range of clients from local businesses to large partnership groups. A UNF graduate with a degree in Accountancy, she began her career at BDO in 2018 and has since built expertise across diverse industries.
Originally from the Florida Panhandle, Mallory moved to Jacksonville in 2014. Her passion for sustainability led her to the North Florida Green Chamber, where she’s committed to helping businesses achieve their environmental goals.
Outside of work, Mallory enjoys creative projects like stained glass and furniture building, and spending time with her wife, their cat Lemon, and two dogs, Ronin and Salem.

Board Member
Gina Schell is the founder of Ecochic Shades, a sustainable eyewear brand crafting handcrafted bamboo sunglasses with a focus on quality and waste reduction. A member of 1% for the Planet and the North Florida Green Chamber, Gina is committed to ethical, environmentally responsible business practices.
She brings over a decade of experience working with C-level leaders and boards in international nonprofits, with a focus on climate action, global health, and human rights. Her strengths in board governance, strategic communications, and partnership development make her a valuable asset to the Green Chamber.
Gina holds a Master’s from the University of London and a BA in International Relations. She is a certified Nonprofit Board Director and currently serves on the Investment Advisory Board for the St. Augustine Art Association.

Alyssa Schneider, a marketing student with a passion for bringing brands to life through creative content and social media strategy. Her love for storytelling and brand awareness shines through in her work, from leading social media initiatives for student organizations to executing marketing strategies that boost visibility and audience interaction. Currently, Alyssa is a PR intern at Climate First Bank, a financial institution committed to sustainable banking and green initiatives. She also plays an active role in student leadership at the University of North Florida, serving on the executive board of multiple organizations and contributing to their marketing and outreach efforts.
Beyond her academic and professional experience, Alyssa is a passionate photographer with a keen eye for capturing compelling visuals. With a strong commitment to making a positive impact in both marketing and advocacy, she strives to use her skills to drive meaningful change.

Dolly Penland, President & CEO of Business Results, a PI® Premiere Certified Partner and Master Training Center, Talent Optimization consultancy, and a CATIL® Elite Certified Partner, works with organizations helping them to hire and manage their talent to their highest potential. She specializes in multiple areas including helping businesses grow sales, reduce turnover, and develop leaders.

Board Member
Amelia Amarrador, a junior at the University of North Florida pursuing her B.B.A in Marketing and serves as the Assistant Manager of the local and family-owned Juice Tap. She is currently part of the Membership Committee, where she combines her past experience as Outreach Coordinator for Intune Magazine and Public Relations intern at Climate First Bank, as well as her deep dedication to her hometown of Jacksonville.
She is passionate about environmental conservation and is committed to eco-friendly practices such as secondhand purchasing, limiting waste both at home and work, and reducing her own carbon footprint. She strives to encourage her own community to commit to such practices at both small and large scales.
Following the completion of her Marketing degree, she hopes to grow as a leader in local outreach and establish a net-negative organization. While not studying or working, Amelia enjoys learning new recipes, traveling, and watching Jeopardy.
